It's the return of the mighty Reigning Sound! Songwriting genius Greg Cartwright & Co return after a long seven years with their new record A Little More Time with Reigning Sound, out on May 21st, 2021!

What to say about such a legend of underground rock 'n roll? Greg Cartwright, whom you also know from his work with Oblivians, Compulsive Gamblers (where he wrote one of the greatest pop songs of all time, in my opinion), Mary Wells, The Parting Gifts & more has influenced an entire generation of rock musicians to come after him. Everyone from Jay Reatard to Jack White to Dan Auerbach to Ke$ha have named him as a guiding force in their songwriting style, and his work doesn't shine any brighter than with his band The Reigning Sound.

A Little More Time with Reigning Sound is the first band from the album since 2014's Shattered, and sees Cartwright working with the "original Memphis combo" that worked on lauded albums Time Bomb High School, Home for Orphans & Break Up...Break DownJeremy Scott (bass), Greg Roberson (drums), and Alex Greene (keyboards) helped create some of Reigning Sound's best moments early in their history, and it's easy to say that their sonic chemistry hasn't faded a bit. The new songs explore fresh lyrical and musical territories but at times also tastefully echo back to albums like Time Bomb High School.

The album was recorded in Memphis with producer Scott Bomar (Al Green, William Bell) at Electraphonic Recording, and features a guest appearance from fellow Merge recording artist Coco Hames on the track "Just Say When" (which she also co-wrote). The gorgeous album art was made by Dan Melchior, talented artist & a hell of a musician in his own right (Das Menace, The Lloyd Pack).

Like with other Cartwright classics it's as pure a pop/soul/rock 'n roll record one can make & sounds as timeless as always.
